Ontario’s locally-owned craft breweries are proud of their independence and ready to fight for it.

Ontario businesses are under threat. The United States is targeting local products – putting up barriers and doubling costs overnight. They want to see our local independent businesses close and our communities hollowed out.

There is nothing more local than Ontario's independent craft breweries.

They exist in every community, employ their neighbours, invest in their neighbourhoods, and support one another. They care about the future of Ontario because it is their future too.

Protecting our economic sovereignty means giving locally owned businesses the firepower to survive, compete and grow.

The Ford government has been vocal about supporting local businesses to help them withstand Trump’s punitive actions.

Now is the time to give these independent breweries the tools to fight and emerge stronger by making it easier to get their beer onto shelves, reach their customers directly, and withstand these punitive actions.

The government can do this by:

  • Removing outdated barriers to help Ontario-owned breweries become more productive and efficient;

  • Creating a progressive tax system that encourages and helps them grow; and,

  • Helping consumers buy more local craft beer by removing the tax on beer sold out their front door.
